I am currently a Child and Youth Care student at Centennial College, and I am applying for a field placement opportunity to continue developing my professional skills in supporting children and youth. Through my academic studies and practical experiences, I have developed strong abilities in relationship-based practice, emotional regulation support, and trauma-informed care.

During my service-learning project connected to Cedar Heights Residential Living, I developed a mental wellness toolkit designed for adults with developmental disabilities. As part of this project, I created activities and visual supports using Canva that focused on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and coping strategies. This experience strengthened my understanding of inclusive practice, strengths-based approaches, and how structured wellness activities can support emotional well-being.

In addition, my current placement in the Caring and Safe Schools Program – Alternative Attendance Program (TDSB) has allowed me to support students in a school environment. I assist with classroom engagement, transitions, and lunch-time programs while helping students develop positive coping strategies and emotional awareness.

My background in education and healthcare has strengthened my ability to communicate with diverse populations, follow safety protocols, and work effectively within interdisciplinary teams. I am passionate about helping young people build confidence, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging in supportive environments.
